Letters to
your future self.
Write on a quiet page, press the wax seal, and keep the letter on your iPhone until the future date you chose.
Coming to theApp StoreThree things.
Nothing more.
A quiet page. No feed, no algorithm — just you and the letter.
Press and hold. The tactile wax settles — and it's closed for good.
Return after its date and the sealed envelope is waiting in your mailbox.
Press. Hold.
It's sealed.
A tactile wax seal, not a save button. Once it sets, there's no more editing — only waiting for the day it returns.
Nothing you write
is ours to read.
Private by design
The current app keeps your words inside Letter's local data on your iPhone. It does not upload letter text to us.
Quietly local
No Letter account or cloud copy in the current version. Open the app after a letter's date to receive it.
No feed, no ads
No algorithm, no data for sale, no dark patterns. Letter earns its keep from people who use it — not your attention.
Writing is free.
Sealing is Letter+.
Draft as much as you need. A verified Letter+ subscription is required before a letter can be sealed.
Letter+ Yearly
- Write and seal letters to your future self
- Choose dates up to 3 years from now
- Keep arrived letters organized on your shelf
- Restore purchases through the App Store
Letter+ Weekly
- Everything in Letter+
- Cancel any time in Settings
No monthly tier. No lifetime tier. Just two honest ways to pay for Letter+.
Sealed,
but transparent.
Can you read my letters?
The current app keeps letter content in its local iPhone app data and does not send it to a Letter server. It does not yet claim end-to-end encryption. See our privacy policy for the exact detail.
What happens if I stop paying?
A self-letter due while Letter+ is inactive waits in a sealed HELD state. It is not opened until Letter+ becomes active again.
How far ahead can I choose?
The current Letter+ horizon choices go up to three years from the day you seal.
Does Letter deliver in the background?
Not in the current version. Letter checks local due dates while the app is running, so reopen it after the date you chose. Do not rely on Letter for time-critical reminders.
Is there a free version?
You can write and keep drafts without subscribing. Sealing requires Letter+. The yearly plan can include a 7-day trial when the App Store says your Apple ID is eligible; the weekly plan has no trial.
Write one.
See what happens.
A quiet letter to the person you'll be.
